Renewals and new memberships are now managed by LWVUS. The new modified division of dues among national, state, and local leagues
will increase funding of state & local level leagues where most voting rights advocacy takes place.

VIDEO: HOW TO JOIN/RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Watch this two minute video to walk through how to join or renew your membership via the new LWV Member Portal. It also shows how to access and use the membership portal to update your profile information and view your past payments.

Use the Join/Renew button at the top right corner of this Deschutes web page to begin your renewal process.  This button automatically directs members, current and prospective, to the new LWVUS membership website for the purpose of joining or renewing membership in the Deschutes League.

The new LWV Member Portal button, between the Join/Renew and Donate buttons, directs current members to the new membership system at anytime to view/update personal and contact information and to view payments and other relevant information.

What does this mean for you?


Watch for your LWV Membership Renewal Reminder email.
  • Current members will receive detailed assistance before their individual 60 day renewal period begins.
  • Renewal notices will be sent according to membership expiration dates.
  • For questions or concerns, reach out to membership@lwvdeschutes.org.

Click My Profile to review/update your Personal and Contact Information during the renewal process.

How will you select your dues rate amount?


DUES ("Membership Option")

  • *Keep in mind, dues rates do NOT include donation amounts. 
  • Decide the annual dues rate best for you: recommended rate $75, or Pay What You Can from $20 minimum or higher.
  • The dues rate amount you select will be divided among the local, state, and national leagues at the percentages noted below.
  • The portion of your dues that goes to the national league 501(c)4, will not be tax-exempt, but the portions that go to our local and Oregon leagues 501(c)3 will remain tax-exempt. Keep your receipt for tax purposes.
    • These three portions will be represented separately on your payment receipt, bank and/or credit card statement.
  • An auto-renewal option is now available for annual membership dues and donations made during the new Join/Renew process.

During the Join or Renew process, click Pay My Dues to proceed to the Membership Option (Dues Rate selections) and Membership Contribution (Donation) sections. In the Membership Option, select Other to choose the Pay What You Can model.

How do you enter a donation to LWV Deschutes during renewal?


DONATIONS ("Membership Contribution")

  • Donations to the Deschutes League can be made during the second step of the LWV Join/Renew process.
    • "LWV Deschutes County" will be pre-selected for you.
  • Donations may also be made, at any time, from the Deschutes website using the Donate button.

LWV of Deschutes County will appear automatically on this screen.

What more do you need to know?

  • Watch for your LWVUS Membership Renewal Notice emailed from membership@lwv.org.
  • On visits to the LWV Member Portal, each member, even members of a household, will log in with their unique email address to access their individual accounts in the new LWV member system.
    • Each time, a unique verification code will be emailed to you to enter in lieu of a password. 

Membership dues payment and Donation contributions by check are still accepted by LWV Deschutes.

  • Complete and print this Membership Form.
  • Make dues payment check payable to LWVUS.
  • Make donation contribution check payable to LWV Deschutes.
  • Mail your Membership Form and All Checks to LWV Deschutes  PO Box 1783 Bend, OR 97709.
