Since 1920, the League of Women Voters has been an activist, grassroots organization whose leaders believed that people should play a critical role in democracy.
League positions are formed through studies and member consensus at the local, state, and national levels. Statements of position are expressions of general agreement, affirming a basic philosophy in general terms. We advocate on public policy. Our actions and campaigns are based on League of Women Voters principles.
