Sierra Club Special Event

October 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

What can Indigenous Cultures Teach Us about Coping with the Climate Crisis? The speaker, Kari Marie Norgaard, has spent nearly 2 decades working on environmental research with the Karuk Tribe in the Klamath-Siskiyou region, and her new book is “Salmon and Acorns Feed Our People: Colonialism, Nature and Social Action.”
Dr. Norgaard’s talk will focus on the thought-provoking issues of Climate Crisis, denial, fire science, Nature, and Indigenous wisdom, and model a way forward to break the cultural inertia on Climate Action. These are issues that I want to explore, too.
